The series of bird paintings he is currently creating are a graphical, colourful interpretation of many species influenced by actual birds, but mainly conjured up from his own imagination. The richness of the textures he creates through layers of paint add a fullness and depth to the work. Through his use of shadow and light, he loves to create a sense of volume in the forms.
